L’AncĂȘtre wins an important recognition at the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards 🏆🇹🇩

BĂ©cancour, June 9, 2025 – Fromagerie L’AncĂȘtre is proud to announce that its line of certified organic “grass-fed” cow’s milk cheddars has won a prestigious award in the dairy category at the Canadian Grand Prix New Product Awards! This event is organized each year in Toronto by de Retail Council of Canada to celebrates advancement and excellence in new food distribution industry products.

This isn’t the first recognition for this innovative cheddar line made from unpasteurized milk and available in 3 aging time, mild, medium and old : last November, L’AncĂȘtre won the 2024 CTAQ Food Innovation Award for the first products to feature the grass-fed certification developed by Dairy Farmers of Canada. This label guarantees that 75% of the cows’ diet comes from grass and certified organic forage. In April, this cheddar line was also a finalist at SIAL Innovation 2025 that spotlighted the most cutting-edge products in the agri-food industry.

With these recognitions, Fromagerie L’AncĂȘtre reaffirms its commitment to innovation and quality, while offering delicious cheeses made with respect for sustainable agricultural practices.

L’AncĂȘtre would also like to highlight the collaboration of the five organic farms that achieved certification: Ferme Liclerc, Ferme Gonzales, Ferme SaumoniĂšre, Ferme Pocatoise, and Ferme Safranc. These producers share the company’s values and go above and beyond the organic certification requirements by feeding their cows as much fresh grass as possible to enhance animal welfare, produce milk richer in essential fats, and reduce their carbon footprint.

We also thank our valued partners, including Les Producteurs de lait du Québec, Dairy Farmers of Canada for developing the certification, and Ecocert, the independent and accredited certifier that conducts the rigorous organic audit process involved in certification.
