We would like to inform our customers that certain organic cheeses cut and packaged on July 30, 2026, are currently subject to a precautionary recall.

Various brands of organic cheeses recalled due to Listeria monocytogenes – Canada.ca
If you have purchased one of the affected products, please do not consume it. You may return it to the place of purchase for a refund or contact us at info@fromagerieancetre.com and include a photo of the product showing the lot number.
This recall follows testing conducted by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), which detected a very low level of Listeria monocytogenes in a sample of on unit of our Swiss cheese.
Please note that the level detected was more than 20 times lower than the threshold established by Health Canada for a food to be considered unsafe to human consumption, and to date, we have received no consumer complaints.
As a precautionary measure, we promptly initiated a recall of the affected lots to protect consumers, particularly those who may be more vulnerable, and to prevent any risk associated with bacterial growth during the products’ shelf life.
Food safety has always been a top priority at L’Ancêtre. For more than 10 years, we have rigorously followed the current sampling plan recommended by Health Canada, and this is the first Listeria-related issue ever identified in our cheeses.
We take this situation very seriously and will be conducting extensive additional testing over the coming weeks to ensure that this is an isolated event.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank our customers for their understanding and continued trust.
