FROMAGERIE L’ANCÊTRE TAKES SEVEN PODIUM PLACES AT THE ROYAL AGRICULTURAL WINTER FAIR 2023

Bécancour, November 8, 2023 – Fromagerie L’Ancêtre, the Quebec flagship of the organic cheese industry, is celebrating a resounding victory at the prestigious Royal Agricultural Winter Fair, where seven of its products brilliantly placed in the top three of their respective categories when the winners were announced on Friday. Of particular note was first place for salted butter in the Organic Salted Butter category.

Success in several categories

Supported by an event category sponsored by METRO, this renowned competition, which has been rooted in the agricultural sector for a century, puts the spotlight on Canada’s finest cheeses every year in Toronto.

Among the products entered in the competition, a number of outstanding ones took top places in their respective categories. Among the products that took one of the top 3 positions:

• Salted butter: 1st in the Organic salted butter category
• Unsalted butter: 2nd in the Unsalted butter category
• Mild Cheddar: 2nd in the Mild Cheddar category
• Sharp Cheddar: 2nd in the Aged Cheddar category
• Smoked Cheddar: 2nd in the Naturally Smoked category
• Baluchon: 3rd in the Semi-firm, washed rind category
• Chèvre Artisan: 3rd in the Goat, Sheep, Water Buffalo and Mixed Milk, Internally Ripened category
