Three L’Ancêtre Cheddars Crowned Winners at CASEUS 2024: A Historic First for the Fromagerie!
Bécancour, September 26, 2024 – On the evening of September 25, Fromagerie L’Ancêtre was crowned champion at the CASEUS 2024 competition, taking first place in three categories with its organic products. This is a historic first for the company, achieving a record harvest by winning three first prizes this year. The winners are:
Cheddar: L’Ancêtre 2 Years Old Organic Cheddar
For the second consecutive year, this cheese was elected Best Cheddar. With its slightly crumbly texture, it is made from unpasteurized milk and features melting crystals resulting from a prolonged and natural maturation process. Its distinctive flavor evokes hazelnuts and leaves a fruity note at the finish, delighting cheese lovers.
Best Organic Cheese: L’Ancêtre Double Smoked Organic Cheddar
This firm, slightly creamy cheese is crafted from unpasteurized milk. Its old-school smoking with applewood imparts distinct notes of hazelnuts and salted butter. Its smooth texture and amber paste delight cheese lovers.
Reduced-Fat Cheese: L’Ancêtre Light Medium Organic Cheddar (18% m.f.)
This firm organic cheddar cleverly disguises its true nature! Slightly salty with hints of hazelnut and butter, it has a unique characteristic: it becomes bolder with age, providing a rich tasting experience. Its creamy-colored paste melts deliciously in the mouth, enhancing the enjoyment.
