Montréal, Québec, April 22st, 2022 – Pascal Désilets, CEO of Fromagerie L’Ancêtre is pleased to announce the first place of their cheese curds in the category “fresh Cheddar cheese curds” at the SIAL Canada 2022 international cheese contest. This category, in which Fromagerie L’Ancêtre stood out, was introduced this year for the first time at the SIAL Montréal on April 21st.
The jury chaired by Gurth M. Pretty and composed of professionals from the cheese industry, had to assess the best cheeses among 28 categories. This Thursday, they decided in favor of the Fromagerie L’Ancêtre by giving them the gold medal for their cheese curds.
It is a great honor for the 30 years old company from Bécancour to win an international contest with organic products. “This win is a reward for the 30 years of efforts in producing quality cheeses in an eco-friendly and cruelty-free way. We are proud to sell sustainable products while ensuring an international contest worthy quality.” Said Pascal Désilets when the announcement of the winner or the SIAL Canada international cheese contest was made.
